Both air and non-air-conditioned buses depart
from Ekamai Bus Terminal (0-2391-8097) for Trat
many times a day.

Two ways from Bangkok:
Bangna-Trat (Highway No.3 ) which passes Chon
Buri, Rayong and Chantaburi. The distance is
385 kms long.
Bangna-Chonburi-Klaeng-Chantaburi (Highway No.
344). The distance is 315 kms in length.

by boat
Getting to Ko Chang
Visitors can catch a bus from the Eastern Bus
Terminal for the 5 hours trip to the Trat Bus
Terminal (departures between 06.00 a.m. - 12.00
p.m.). From there, continue by Song Taew (local
truck) to Laem Ngop, with ferry landings located
at Ao Thammachat and Ko Chang Center Point where
services are operated all day. The distance
from town to Laem Ngop is 17 kms.
Passenger boats usually make hourly departures
from Laem Ngop to Ao Sapparot on Ko Chang from
8.00 a.m.-5.00 p.m. The trip takes 45 minutes
and the fare is 50 baht per person. Visitors
can continue to Hat Sai Khao, Hat Khlong Phrao
and Hat Kai Bae by local bus, which charges
30 baht per person. The schedules and fares

Ferry Services
Ferries depart either from Ao Thammachat or
Ko Chang Center Point Landings between 07.30
- 16.30 hrs. Travel time is 30 minutes. Private
vehicles can be loaded onto the ferry. Please
note that vehicles used on the island should
be 4-wheel drive cars as road conditions are
bumpy and slopes are very steep. After landing
on Ko Chang, Song Taews provide transport services
to various points. Fares should be settled beforehand.
Lodging facilities on Ko Chang consist mainly
of bungalow-type accommodations on most beaches.
There are also bicycles and boats for rent.
Several smaller isles with scenic beaches coral
reefs south of Ko Chang offer accommodations.
They include Ko Wai , Ko Lao Ya and Ko Kradat
. Noted for both deep-water and shallow-water
corals are the group of Ko Kra and Ko Rang islands
located to the west of Ko Mak.
Ko Mak is a large island south of Ko Chang.
It is blessed with several beautiful bays and
beaches. Nearby are coral reefs that are in
perfect condition. The islanders make their
living by growing rubber and coconut trees.
The best time to visit is November-late April.
There are a number of accommodation facilities.
A passenger boat departs Laem Ngop daily at
3.00 p.m. and return from Ko Mak at 7.00 a.m.
Traveling time is 3.5 hours.
Second in size to Ko Chang, Ko Kut is located
in the southernmost point in Trat territorial
waters. A speedboat transport visitors to the
island within one hour. The inhabitants grow
rubber, coconut and other fruit-yielding plants,
while others are fishermen. With scenic beaches
shaded by rows of pines and coconut trees mostly
located on the western shores, it is also blessed
with rich mangroves.Package tours normally are
inclusive of accommodations (on Ko Kut, Ko Lao
Ya and Ko Ngam) and transfers. Those wishing
to charter a boat can contact the Laem Ngop
