Krabi Interesting Adventures Tours
Rock
climbing courses
Rock climbing became popular at Railay since 1992, after a French
cliff climber surveyed this area and designated several climbing
courses of different difficulty levels. Cliff climbers from all
over the world visit Railey every year, making it like an international
meeting place of cliff climbers.
Diving
Krabi divers invites you to discover the wonders of the Andaman
sea. We offer dive trips to local reefs as well as one day excursions
to the more renowned sites in the area. Multiple-day trips to less
Visited sites are accessable from our liveaboard boat.
There is an incredible diversity of marina life in the area with
locations to suit divers of all experience levels.

Canoe - Ao Thalan
About half way along the coast between Than Bog Khorani and Krabi
Town is a bay of mangroves that may be the most beautiful in all
of Thailand. Here, bays and canyons are like passageways. Recently
discovered, this setting is superb for having a first time encounter
with this ecosystem.
Sea
Kayak - Koh Hong
Hong island stand out as one of the most beautiful island of the
Andaman cost. As your approach from the sea the towering limestone
formation & crytal clear water inspire images of deserted Dream
Island. Pelay beach boasts powder white sand & wonderful coral
& fish.
Elephant
trekking in Krabi
THE elephant is seen as a symbol of the nation and a talisman for
the Thai people. With their wrinkly grey skin and swaying trunk,
they are a fascinating combination of brute force, gentleness and
remarkable agility that inspires both respect and affection.
With elephants fast disappearing from the wild in Thailand, the
best place to see these fascinating animals up close is in a trekking
camp. There are only a few camps in Krabi - such establishments
must follow strict guidelines as set by the National Livestock Department
regarding the provision of adequate food, water and shade for their
animals, as well as proper health care.
A trek will allow you to experience this first-hand, as well as
the animals' natural forest environment. Carrying tourists for fun
means the elephants are able to earn their keep, while living as
freely as is possible: as there is not enough space to release them
into the wild, and they are very costly to feed (eating up 2-300kg
of food per day) the only alternatives for these gentle giants are
begging, illegal logging, or inactivity in a zoo.
Trekking tours - usually an hour's ride on the elephant, combined
with another sightseeing activity - are bookable through any local
agent, or you can visit the camps directly if you don't wish to
do the other activities on the itinerary.
Cycling
FOR those brave enough to attempt it (the climate is very hot and
humid), cycling through the Krabi countryside is a richly rewarding
experience. Most tourists will only ever see local people who live
by the side of the main road - and that usually through the minibus
window as it speeds past.
A mountain bike, available for rent in Krabi Town and in Ao Nang,
will allow you to go 'off-road' and explore the network of dirt
tracks that go back for miles behind the highways. You will come
across astonishing landscapes, small farming communities - and no
doubt a whole host of memorable encounters with friendly and welcoming
local people.
The main highway network is also fairly cycle-friendly. The roads
are generally not very busy and on the majority of them there is
a hard shoulder. Local car drivers are also very used to motorcyclists,
so other two-wheeled road users - although fairly uncommon - pose
no problem for them.
As yet there is no company offering guided cycling tours of Krabi;
however a good local map (and a good sense of direction) is often
all you need. It is very hard to get lost, even off-road, as all
dirt tracks eventually lead out to a named highway. A must for adventurous
spirits.
Golf
courses
THERE is one golf course in Krabi, Pakasai Country Club, located
around 40km south of Krabi Town in Neua Klong district. It is owned
by the local electricity board and is rated quite highly by local
golfers, who enjoy the challenge of its tricky fairways and fast
undulating greens, in slightly hilly terrain.
The course has recently been expanded to 18 holes.
There are several companies who can arrange for you to play. They
will usually sell a 'golf package', which includes transport to
and from the course; equipment hire; green fees; and refreshments,
for a fairly reasonable price. You can also visit independently.
Serious golfers may however be better off holidaying in Phuket,
which offers a far greater choice for enthusiasts, including some
championship courses.
