The hotels 171 rooms, including four penthouse suites and a two-bedroom presidential fiefdom, share a cosseting, contemporary style by Kathryn Kng, a Singapore-based interior design practice. The look is fresh without being ferociously avant garde, acknowledging influences from both the east and west. The simple, ample volumes are flooded with light, manipulated by lighting architects, Isometrix, London. Natural materials include Makha wood from Thailand, combined with oxidized brass paneling.

Paintings are also featured, by Natee Utarit, an up-and-coming artist at the cutting edge of Asias art scene. Utarits images, hung throughout the hotel, give depth to the otherwise clean-lined spaces.

Experience Bangkoks latest gourmet gossip - nutritious, seductive, completely satisfying. Award-winning Australian chef Daniel Moran places unusual importance on sourcing fresh, healthful, local ingredients (an emphasis acquired from Morans early mentor, the formidable Australian chef, Neil Perry). In this spirit, Moran combines eastern and western traditions to create tantalising dishes of striking innovative value.

Cy’an is the hotels headline 110-seat restaurant open for breakfast. lunch and dinner, with tables on the open-air veranda flanking the pool. Its menu draws inspiration from the Mediterrenean, including Moorish influences.

Glow is a 48-seat eatery serving fresh food only, rendered as snacks, light meals and powerfully energising juices, rich in living enzymes, vitamins and minerals. The COMO Shambhala menu is specifically designed for balance and rejuvenation.

The Mer Bar : A private place to party late into the Bangkok night.Serves modern Asian cuisine in club-like environs. When it first opened in 1998, Londons Met Bar became the hottest nighttime haunt west of Ibiza. Now, its newest sister, The Met Bar, Bangkok, delivers the same for the Asian capital, answering a sophisticated need for privacy and energy in a space reserved for hotel guests and members only.

In the afternoon and evening, The Met Bar serves delectable Thai fare to a high-flying crowd. At night, it morphs into a sultry, lounge-style members bar with deep-club chairs and wine-dark walls. Lighting is soft and moody. Bar staff - called mixologists at the Met - create bespoke Martinis while headline DJs spin eclectic lounge sounds from around the world.

Como Shambhala : A sanctuary where mind, body and spirit are nurtured holistically. The Metropolitan, Bangkok, understands its guests are on high-octane schedules. To counteract the pressure, we have opened a COMO Shambhala Urban Escape at the hotel - our largest city retreat yet - dedicated to your continued wellbeing.

In addition to a gym, we have steam rooms, a hydro pool, 20m outdoor lap pool and yoga studio, with 10 treatment areas where guests can indulge in Asian-inspired, holistic therapies originally developed at our sister resort, COMO Shambhala Estate at Begawan Giri in Bali.

Treatments include reflexology and Thai massage, all delivered by experienced, specialised practitioners. In addition, we can arrange for private instruction in yoga, or personal trainers.
