Oriental Hotel

The legend of The Oriental dates back over 125 years when it first opened its doors as a seaman’s lodge along the fabled Chao Phya River.  Since that time, the legend has continued to grow, and today it is recognized as one of the world’s premier hotels.

Comprising 393 guestrooms and suites, the Oriental’s accommodation enjoy three different settings within it expansive grounds, each with it’s own character and style.
 
- The “old Oriental Hotel”, built in 1876, has been beautifully converted into The Author’s Residence, now home to four world- renowned Author’s Suites.  Situated off wide, cool hallways on the first floor directly above the Authors’ Lounge, each suite is individually furnished and decorated to reflect the origins of its name. 

- The newly renovated Garden Wing houses unique split-level accommodation, decorated in contemporary Thai style with magnificent views of both the plush gardens and river. 

- The River wing which under went a full renovation in 2000 and 2001was the newest addition to the hotel.  This building stands tall over the Chao Phya river and boasts impressive views of The River of Kings

Superior River Wing Room (40 sqms)
Located in the River Wing and newly renovated, these rooms are decorated with Thai accents throughout and enjoy magnificent river views through large floor to ceiling windows.  A work desk is available with in-built international plugs and inter-net access while a fax machine/printer is on request on a complimentary basis. All rooms enjoy 3 IDD telephones with two lines, individual thermostatic controller for air-conditioning and humidity, remote control TV with in-house movies, pay movies, Bose CD player and CD library, radio, mini bar, in-room safe, hair dryer, bathrobe and slippers. The spacious bathroom enjoys natural daylight and includes separate bathtub and walk-in shower as well as a double vanity.

Deluxe Room Garden Wing (39 smqs)
Located in the Garden Wing with impressive river views, rooms are quiet and cozy, most are in a unique split-level layout.  Rooms are newly renovated in contemporary Thai style and have a sitting area with a small staircase leading up to the bedroom or down to the living area and most have a small private conservatory overlooking the river. All rooms enjoy ample day light through floor to ceiling windows.  Bathrooms are decorated in marble and wood furnishings and enjoy some natural daylight. Facilities include 2 IDD telephones, individual thermostatic controller air-conditioning, remote control colour TV with in-house movies, pay movies and radio, CD/DVD player and CD library, radio, complimentary tea/coffee making facility, mini bar, in-room safe, hair dryer, bathrobe and slippers.

Deluxe Room River Wing – City View with Balcony (63 sqms)
Located in the River wing with both river and city views, rooms are newly renovated and decorated with soft furnishings in neutral colors in Thai silk with Thai accents throughout. All rooms have a spacious sitting area with large comfortable sofas and coffee table setting.  A strong flow of natural daylight brightens these rooms through floor to ceiling windows, and through the walk out balcony.  A work desk is available with in-built international plugs and inter-net access, while a fax machine is on request on a complimentary basis. Deluxe Stateroom with balcony - River Wing (55 sqms)
Located in the River wing with front river views, all rooms are newly renovated and located on floors 3 to 9.  A teakwood-paneled hallway leads guests into the room, which is decorated in traditional Thai style with dark teakwood and soft furnishings in bright Thai silk.  Several floor to ceiling windows surround the room which also contains a balcony.  A small sitting area is available within the bedroom with a comfortable sofa and coffee table setting.  A semi-private work area is also surrounded by floor to ceiling windows and contains a work desk, international plugs and inter-net access and a fax machine/printer.  All rooms have 3 IDD telephones with two lines, individual thermostatic controller for air-conditioning and humidity, remote control TV with in-house movies, pay movies, Bose CD player and CD library, radio, mini bar, in-room safe, hair dryer, bathrobe and slippers. Deluxe Suites (92 sqms)          
Choose from 10 different suites, each individually designed to reflect accents of the different author’s and personalities after whom they have been named. Located in the River Wing and all newly renovated, these suites boast magnificent river views through large floor to ceiling windows and a balcony off the spacious sitting room.  A work area is available with access to international plugs and inter-net as well as a fax machine/printer.  Facilities include 4 IDD telephones with two lines, individual thermostatic controller for air-conditioning and humidity, remote control TV with on command in-house movies, pay movies, Bose CD player & CD library, radio, mini bar refrigerator, in-room safe, hair dryer, bathrobe and slippers. These suites enjoy a large en-suite bathroom with double vanity, separate bathtub and walk-in shower as well as a walk-in closet. All suites also enjoy a powder room off the sitting room for guests.
